Welcome to my website!
I am a translator and interpreter; my working languages are English and German.
Please read which services I offer in the text below. Should you have any doubt, or should you need further information, don’t hesitate to contact me through the appropriate section "Contact me". I will be glad to guide you into the extraordinary world of languages and cultural mediation. Together we will surely find the best solution to suit your professional needs.
A translation service provides the transposition of a written text from a language (source language) into another one (target language).
A multilingual website makes it possible to increase dramatically the traffic volume of one’s own web pages. An appropriate “linguistic localization” makes it possible to adapt any text to the culture of the reference country communicating the message properly without running the risk of modifying its meaning.
In the commercial field a mere translation is not sufficient. A good commercial translation implies an in-depth analysis of rules and customs. Suffice it to think about contractual issues and correspondence among business partners or about offers, price lists and promotional material.
The transposition in this field makes it possible to understand technical texts concerning very different but specific sectors: medicine, mechanics, engineering, computer science, etc. As a part of this field we can find instruction booklets, patents, specifications and so forth.
In the legal field it is fundamental to ensure a clear understanding and a full transparency, both for a simple legal letter and for a sentence. For any type of document it is possible to make a request for a sworn translation service. In this way the translated document becomes legally valid. The sworn translation service implies that the translator swears an oath in a court ensuring the faithfulness of the target text to the source one. If the document needs to be used abroad, it is sometimes necessary to add to the sworn translation service the legalization service or the application of the so-called apostille at a public prosecutor’s office (Procura della Repubblica).
An interpreting service allows two or more individuals who don't speak the same language to communicate fluently.
It is an interpreting technique used for a limited number of persons, who are close to each other in conferences, meetings or similar events in which the interpreter can “whisper” into their ear, directly and in real time.
Therefore chuchotage makes it possible to save time and to avoid using expensive equipment. However, it could bother and distract other participants in the conference.
It is a technique suitable for conferences and meetings with few participants in which the interpreter, sitting close to the speaker, listens to his/her speech and at regular intervals translate it into another language by using notes.
Consecutive interpreting does not require the use of expensive equipment but takes more time.
It is a technique suitable for large conferences with more guests speaking a foreign language.
Within soundproof booths interpreters, in pairs as a general rule, listen to the speaker and translate simultaneously for guests who listen to the speech in the chosen language directly through a headset.
Simultaneous interpreting is very quick but needs expensive equipment and more interpreters for the different languages involved in the event.
Simultaneous interpreting with a bidule system does not require soundproof booths but the use of a microphone and sometimes of a headset. It is used for example when the interpreter has to go with some guests during a visit.
It is used during business meetings, B2B, factory tours and fairs.
The interpreter acts as a mediator making the communication and the negotiation among the parties easier.
Liaison interpreting does not require special equipment but only the expertise of the interpreter and the knowledge of the specific subjects of the meeting.
I obtained the Bachelor’s degree (laurea di I livello) in Linguistic Mediation at the Scuola per Mediatori Linguistici Carlo Bo (School for Linguistic Mediators) in Bari with highest honours.
In 2000 I started to work as a department assistant at the site of the Bosch Group in Modugno (near Bari), a well-known automotive company. Thanks to a multicultural environment I have deepened my knowledge of the German language, particularly in the mechanical field.
In 2008 I decided to dedicate myself more to the activity as a self-employed professional working as a translator and interpreter for agencies, institutions and private clients, acquiring a very good command in the technical-mechanical, legal, commercial and tourist sector.
From 2010 on I also work as a teacher at the Scuola per Mediatori Linguistici Carlo Bo in Bari.
